Rifiu of sö buk spik

The book „Speak“ was written by the novelist Laurie Halse Anderson, who was born in 1961 in the USA and lives now in New York. There was a number of awards, which she gained through Speak.

Melinda Sordino, who’s 14 years old, decided to spend the evening together with her friends at a party. Everything was perfect until something disastrous happened, which made her phone the cops.

Melinda’s appearance is shy, coy and she’s not able to speak out what she’s on her mind.

She spent the last weeks of her vacancies reclusively. When school starts again she’s nobody to talk, because her friends tergiversated from her. Melinda’s an OUTCAST. She’s suffering from her loneliness until she meets Heather, who’s new at the High-School as well. Unfortunately it wasn’t a too long friendship.

Her reclusiveness rose and rose until she didn’t even speak a word. There were not many enjoyments left in her life, but one of those was art. She was good at drawing

After a while she took heart to tell her ex-best friend about the happening of the party-evening. As she told (wrote) her that she was raped by Rachel’s boyfriend, she didn’t believe her. Anyway, the information spread in speed of light, and she could finally speak again, which made this end a happy end (ina way :P)

Gosh darn it... Have I really been so innocent to believe this book was kind of exciting? I mean 200 pages, which could be explained in about 5 words. Though the story is topical it’s boring. There were moments I could hardly stay awake.

Additional Comment (not belonging to the text)

If I hadn’t paid for this book I’d have put this book onto a bonfire… I mean I’d have slammed it onto a bonfire. But well duty is duty

Ofc you can’t always get books you like (never had the luck though)… Hope you enjoyed reading xD

discribe the main character-with regard to xD

Melinda was, before she called the cops, kind of a popular pupil and very confident. She belonged to a clan and had a lot of friends, but this is a thing of the past. After she had phoned the police because she was raped the world has changed a lot for her. She became an Outcast, she spent the remaining holidays in her house, she didn’t go swimming or anything else-she just avoided any human contact. Then High-school begins and all of her ex-friends let her know, that she’s undesired in the new clans. But then Heather, who was new there, joined her.

Her mom and her dad aren’t too caring. They just don’t talk enough with their child. My impression is that she feels disregarded. She’s only a few people left who she could call friends. There’s Heather, who cancels the friendship, and there’s her lab partner, who was named David Pertaki and last but not least her art teacher Mister Freeman. Mister Freeman is a very sensitive man, she feels kind of secure when she’s close to him. Her connection to the other teachers isn’t that good. In fact she hates her history teacher. He’s making a problem out of everything. Her English teacher, who’s called hair-woman by Melinda, is weird.

The most pupils on her school don’t like her. Whether they hate her or not why do people at the age of 14-18 throw around balls of mashed potatoes, I found that part a bit unrealistic. For some reason I think even teachers hate her. Rachel and her other ex-friends see her a bit different than the other pupil, for them it’s not just about dislike it is about hate and anger. Although her parents don’t have too much time to spend with her they love her.

The change was enormous. At the beginning she was shy, reserved but she talked. The near the story is at the peak the less she’s talking to anyone. But after she took the heart to talk to Rachel, her ex-best friend, about the happening positive changes were noticeable.

The End

Englisch-Sa correction

Good morning ladies and gentlemen. I’m glad to be able to introduce you to the interesting sights of Cambridge. Before we start I’d like to give you some basic information about this city. Cambridge, which was founded about 1000 years ago and has about one and a half million inhabitants, is nowadays well known as a place of worship. Beside this, it’s the home of the famous Wesley hosue, which is a Methodist university and as old as the city itself. Our first stop will be “Whipple Museum”, therefore please follow me loadies and gentlemen.

So this is it, the Whipple Museum. In there you can see various objects dealing with science for instance you can get an impression on how microscopes work and so on. It’s open from Monday to Friday from 10:30 to 4:30 and the entry is free. For those of you who have children there’s an alternative right across the street. There’s a Museum of Zoology, which is way more interesting for kids.

Now we are going to head further sout-west along Pembroke Street.

Our next destination is the Corpus Christi college, which was founded in 1352. Most of you will already have heard of it, since it’s well known on the whole planet. We could take a break at the beautiful court of the college.

As we are all rested now, we follow King’s Paradise Street until we see the market.

Here are many shops and stalls, selling art and craft, which is affordable for everyone. Please ladies and gentlemen, follow me to our next destination, which is only a bit to the north.

That’s Trinity college. You might have noticed already the beautiful way it’s built. In 1543 van Klack planned it and in 1546 the building work was finally done. Follow me along Jesus lane right to the east.

Wesley house, which I mentioned a while ago is the oldest existing building in Cambridge. It’s famous for all the great theologists who studied here, for example Billy Bryan.

Last but not least we are going to have a look at the huge Graffon shopping Centre, which is a bit to the east. This is the shopping paradise for everyone, since you can get cheap food, cheap clothes but expensive stuff such as tables, beds… too. I can almost guarantee that you’ll find what you search, if you just search long enough.

From here we’ll take the bus back to the bus stop “Drummer Street”, but until it’s arrival enjoy the stopping. Thank you for booking “a virtual tour”. I enjoyed introducing you to Cambridge. I wish you all the best and enjoy your further holidays.

YeYe, finally done :O

We start our great journey at the railway station of Rankweil. First of all I’m going to tell you some facts about Rankweil, which was founded by the Romans. Nowadays Rankweil has about 12.000 inhabitants. But before we start our journey I want to add some information. Rankweil’s got 2 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, 1 special school, a poly, a hlw and of course a htl.

The first “sight” is a bit to the west, so you guys better follow me.

We’ll walk down the “Schleipfweg” and then take the bus (line 68) and get out at the busstation called “Krönele”.

So this here is the golf course. The building work was finally done a year ago. Unfortunately it’s very expensive to play there, but it’s really worth every cent.

Our next destination is the “Vinomna Saal”, which is named after the old name of “Rankweil” (Vinomna). It’s a few footsteps from the railway station if you just follow the “Bahnhofstraße” to the east. Balls and theatres are only a few examples for what this building is used for. Mainly it’s used for events which deal with entertainment of the public.

Maybe you’ve already realized the beautiful building up the hill, which is our next destination.

Don’t worry guys, it won’t get too exhausting, it’s really not as high as it looks like in the first moment.

So this is the place. This is the “Basilika”, which is nowadays used as a church. The “Basilika” was in the mediavel times a castle and refuge of the people living in “Rankweil”. This amazing church is only one of the 3 churches in Rankweil. The Basilika is known very well, because it’s a famous pilgrimage spot in Austria. Another exciting fact about the Basilika is that the pope himself blessed this church a few years ago.

There’s so much to show you guys here, but unfortunately there’s so much to show and so little time.

Finally I want all of you to enjoy your further holidays, and wish you and your family all the best.

Good bye~
